Introduction - Recording Video To Computer
If you've read the "Recording
To Computer" article, then you'll know that in order
to record video you need both the right hardware and the right
software. The principle for recording video can be slightly
different. You may not want to record to computer, you may
want to record to vdeo. Well this is quite simple too.
Recording To Computer
First you'll need to be aware, that to sucessfully get video
from the PS2 to the computer, you must first have these:
- AV Adapter:
- A Graphics Card with Composite/S-Video input.
- Composite or S-Video cables
For this to work, you need to get a TV tuner card, almost
no Graphics cards have input video sockets on them. Some ATI
models do though. The process of connecting is quite simple.
All we need to do is install the two devices up above, and
connect them. You can chose to use S-Video or Composite, the
advantage would be using S-Video, which is much clearer. You
should receive a 640x486 resolution image if connected properly.
When you do get the video up on screen, you'll have to find
yourself a video recorder, the Movie Recorder software that
comes with XP or ME is a good option to use, but you may find
the software that came with your TV Tuner card/Graphics card
had software that could do this.
